Majors: Biomedical Engineering
Bringing together your interests in medicine and engineering, you will define and evaluate customer requirements for improved efficacy of therapies; design and manage animal and human clinical feasibility studies; identify desired outcomes and develop technological solutions to address customer requirements; test clinical and technical feasibility of proposed solutions; design hardware and software tools to collect and analyze the human body's complex signals; draft protocols for collection of clinical data using Labview/Matlab and procure IRB (Institutional Review Board) approval; conduct clinical research with patients to improve products for patients and physicians using GLP(Good Laboratory Practices Guidelines); analyze data collected and evaluate fundamental signal characteristics; and test various product features.
Minimum Requirements: BS or MS in Biomedical Engineering. Minimum GPA 3.0. Relevant academic projects and/or internship experience helpful.
Majors: Electrical Engineering
We have opportunities for Electrical Engineering majors in the areas of product development/design, testing and quality assurance, research, and integrated circuit design. Under the leadership of senior engineers you will use state-of-the-art engineering tools and methods to design/develop products to be used by physicians including pacemakers, and implantable defibrillators, neuro-stimulators, drug pumps and other implantable medical devices.
Under supervision of experienced engineers, you will be responsible for electrical engineering activities to support various products and processes. Opportunities exist in the areas of Product Development/Design, Test, QA, Research, and IC Design. Depending on position, responsibilities may include: perform design tests to evaluate and verify current designs according to specified results; use data obtained from technician support to verify the functionality of product design and draw conclusions for evaluation; design product components, circuitry, or hardware, from detailed concept descriptions; troubleshoot and problem solve portions of a design project; develop test methodology and specifications and perform such tests; collect and analyze physiologic signals and other data; construct and design the hardware and software tools necessary to perform experimental protocols; design hardware and software tools that allow the human body’s complex signals to be collected and analyzed; use of various tools such as Labview, Matlab, etc.
Minimum Requirements: BS or MS in Electrical Engineering. Minimum GPA 3.0. Relevant academic projects and / or internship experience helpful.
Majors: Materials Science
Materials Science positions may include bioorganic and polymer synthesis and derivatization, analytical techniques, wet chemistry, synthetic procedures, surface modification, adhesion and testing, etc. Some instrumentation work related to sample testing.
Individual will be responsible for: designing and executing processes and tests from non-detailed instructions to verify feasibility of proposed process; designing experiments to develop new, and optimizing existing processes; assessing hardware and software needs; interpreting and documenting developments and recommending improvements; serving as a technical resource to cross-functional teams providing guidance concerning materials selection and processing; and providing guidance and support to technicians in materials lab.
Minimum Requirements: BS or MS in Materials Science. Minimum GPA of 3.0; relevant academic projects and/or internship experience helpful.
Majors: Mechanical Engineering
We have opportunities in both product design and manufacturing development/design, where under the leadership of senior engineers you will use state-of-the-art engineering tools and methods to either design/develop products to be used by physicians on patients, or further develop the manufacturing methods used to produce those medical technology products.
Product design/development positions offer opportunity to perform evaluations on mechanical concepts for future technology of implantable devices, and to develop and improve manufacturing methods, systems and processes to produce high quality product at optimal cost. Responsibilities include documenting requirements of design concepts, evaluating mechanical aspects of prototype concepts, performing design tests to evaluate and verify current designs to specified results, using data obtained from technician support to verify the functionality of product design and draw conclusions for evaluation, designing product components, circuitry or hardware from detailed concept descriptions, troubleshooting and problem solving your assigned portion of the design project, and developing test methodology and specifications.
Manufacturing design/development positions offer opportunity to develop, implement and improve manufacturing methods, systems and processes to produce a high quality product which meets design specifications at optimal cost. You will determine requirements of manufacturing operations to specify equipment, fixturing, and process parameters; develop plans to evaluate process repeatability and stability through equipment qualification and process validation; continuously improve manufacturing methods, optimize product performance and reduce manufacturing costs; assist with detailed cost analyses of particular manufacturing changes; provide engineering support to manufacturing operation on a routine basis; address product related issues arising on the production floor; recommend appropriate staffing levels to support manufacturing requirements; define and generate all required documentation in support of manufacturing products and processes, including engineering protocols, reports, manufacturing instructions and procedures; and ensure compliance with GMPs and internal protocol.

Majors: Computer Engineering, Computer Science
The four primary areas of opportunity are working on Software Development, Firmware, Software Verification/Test, Firmware Verification/Test. You will use software engineering tools and methods to define requirements and then design, verify, and implement a product. Some software applications are used by physicians in the course of diagnosing or treating patients; other products allow for the analysis of data gathered during pre-clinical or clinical trials. Under the direction of a more experienced engineer, you will prepare plans for your own work, participate in technical reviews, implement advances in current state-of-the-art technology and identify opportunities for productivity and quality improvement. You will test for product integration and verification, conducting those tests based on design specifications, and will prepare formal documentation.
Minimum Requirements: BS or MS in Computer Engineering or Computer Science. Minimum GPA 3.0. Depending on the specific position, experience with one or more of the following will be useful: C/C++, web technologies/networking, JAVA, Python, Perl, realtime systems, operating systems, databases, and assembly language. Relevant academic projects and/or internship experience helpful.
