There are many stages and variations of Ménière's disease. Your doctor has to evaluate your condition to make sure you get the therapy that’s right for you.
To manage Ménière’s disease symptoms, doctors usually prescribe treatments in order of lower risk to higher risk.
There’s no cure for Ménière’s disease and no one knows what causes it. Doctors usually try several treatment methods to control your symptoms. Less risky treatments are usually tried first. These include dietary changes, medical therapy with certain drugs, and low pressure pulse therapy. Other treatments are more invasive.
If dietary changes and medication don’t relieve your symptoms, your doctor may prescribe low pressure pulse therapy. Some other disorders share similar symptoms but low pressure pulse therapy may only be used only in definite cases of Ménière's disease.
If all other therapies fail, your doctor may suggest surgery for your symptoms.
Only you and your doctor can decide which treatment is best for your Ménière's disease.
